How to use a Gua Sha - step by step:

There are two important things to keep in mind when performing facial massage with the pink tool.

1) Be light on the hand, it should feel but not hurt so do not press too hard and

2) also do not use the tool on dry skin, make sure you have applied oil or cream before you start.

Do this!

1. Apply a face oil or serum on cleansed face. This makes the tool slide more easily.

2. Angle your tool at a 45-degree angle, almost all the way to your face, so that you do not hold it straight out when you pull it on the skin.

3. Have a light pressure and start with the neck and jaws before working your way up to the ears, cheekbones and forehead.

See our illustrations on the direction in which you should move the tool.

4. You can use all sides of the tool for different parts of the face, test yourself to which part feels best on different parts. Enjoy your massage for four to six minutes.

5. Has the face flared up? Good! It just means that you have started blood circulation and that your massage worked.

Gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin to relieve pain and tension. This action causes light bruising, which often appears as purple or red spots known as petechiae or sha.

The name gua sha — pronounced gwahshah — comes from the Chinese word for scraping. It may also be called skin scraping, spooning, or coining.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, qi or chi is energy that flows through the body. Many people believe that a person’s qi must be balanced and flowing freely to ensure their health and wellbeing.

Heart Chakra (Anahata) The heart chakra (4Th - Anahata) Placement in the middle of the chest. Associated with social identity, self-acceptance, love, relationships and grief.

When the chakra is in balance, you have a feeling of balance, empathy, self-acceptance and good relationships. Found in the center of the chest, it connects the lower physical chakras with the higher spiritual chakras. Green is the foundation color of this chakra & turns pink at its most elevated state.

Imbalance can cause emotional confusion, loveless attitude, bigotry, heart problems, lung problems, breathing problems and asthma, inability to love and show love. It can be difficult to show emotion and not be able to set boundaries.

Love becomes more challenging when the heart chakra is blocked. This can cause problems in relationships, such as jealousy and controlling behavior. It can also make us feel detached and unlovable.

One of the best ways to balance an underactive or overactive heart chakra is by using crystals.
